In an event held at Delhi, Xiaomi has officially launched Mi Max in India. The phone has already been released in China last month at a price tag of RMB 1999 for the top-end model. In India, the phone is available in 3GB and 4GB variant, priced at Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 19,999 respectively. Along with the release of Mi Max, Xiaomi has also released MIUI 8 globally. Mi Max will be available in two variants, the first one comes with Snapdragon 650, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while the other one comes with Snapdragon 652, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Mi Max is the first device that came with MIUI 8 out of the box. It features a big 6.44 inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The phone is mere 7.5 mm thick, which make it quite handy instead of having such a large form-factor.

Mi Max comes with dual SIM hybrid slots, which means you can either use a micro SIM or a microSD card in one slot. It is equipped with 4850mAh battery which can last long for two days as per the company’s media advertisement. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back and comes with USB Type-C port with fast charging.

Mi Max sports a 16MP primary camera with 5MP front facing camera. It has a nice build quality with all the basic features that one can expect from mid range smartphones. Though Mi Max has limited internal storage, but it is expandable up to 256GB by using microSD card.
