Today Micromax has launched Canvas 5 which is the successor of the popular Canvas 4. Canvas 4 was launched back in 2013 and now after 2 years Canvas 5 is here with much better specifications and price tag. Micromax Canvas 5 has been priced at Rs. 11,999 which is one the most competitive price range in Indian market. The phone will now be available in retail shops and Micromax stores. At this price, Micromax manages to provide metal side frame in Canvas 5.

The device has been build very beautifully and sturdy with gorgeous metal frames and 4.8 mm visual thickness. Canvas 5 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop and is expected to get the taste of Marshmallow. It also supports both 3G and 4G bands in India with 150Mbps download speed and 50Mbps upload speed.

Micromax Canvas 5 features a 5.2 inches full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 423 PPI. This beautiful screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by 1.3GHz Octa-Core processor accompanied by 3GB DDR3 RAM. The internal storage of Canvas 5 is 16 GB but it can be expanded up to 64 GB.

When it comes to camera, Canvas 5 has 13MP AF rear camera (Flash enabled) with 5P lens & Blue Optical Filter along with a 5MP Front camera which is also Flash enabled. The unique thing about this camera is that you can use both the cameras at the same time and it called ‘Picture in Picture’ feature, which many people may find very cool.

The other features include Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB and Bluetooth, though NFC is missing. Canvas 5 is powered by a non-removable 2900 mAh battery which is capable of providing 275 hours standby time and 10 hours talk time (as per the company).
