Gionee has launched their new smartphone, Marathon M5 Plus, few hours ago at an event that was held in China. Marathon M5 Plus is the successor of Marathon M5 with some improvised specifications and added features like the popular fingerprint scanner. It’s a complete metal body with a very slim body that looks very premium in hand. It is the first phone that has included a fingerprint scanner after Elife E8 from Gionee. Going through the specifications, Marathon M5 Plus is a high-end device with some killer specs.
The phone will be available for sale in China from 25th December this year. The phone comes with huge 5020 mAh battery, but if you are worried about its charging time, then the company has assured that phone will be fully charged within 2 hours.

Marathon M5 Plus is a Dual SIM phone with 3G and LTE bands support in China. The phone is very rigidly build with mere 9.2 mm thickness. It features a 6.0 inches AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display is very bright and crisp as it should be and it has 367 pixels per inch.
M5 Plus is from Marathon series and it is obvious that it will feature a huge battery. This time the comany has provided with a huge and powerful 5020 mAh battery. The phone is powered by 64 bit Octa core 1.3 GHz accompanied with Mali 400 GPU. It runs on 3GB RAM and has 64GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via micro SD card.
As of now the phone is available in Gold and silver color. It sports a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front facing camera. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Amigo 3.1 UI on top. the other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type C port. Marathon M5 Plus holds the fingerprint sensor at the front instead of back like the trends of other latest smartphones.

Gionee Marathon M5 Plus priced at 2,499 Yuan (approx $385) or Rs. 25000. Gionee Marathon M5 was priced at Rs. 17,999 in India, so it seems that the prices has been kept a bit higher at the launch and it may drop a bit later on.
