The new flagship device from Xiaomi, Mi 5, has already been spotted in benchmark websites and is one of the most awaited device for the year 2016. As per the rumors and trends, it is expected that Xiaomi Mi 5 will be released in the first quarter of 2016. It is the successor of Mi 4 which was released in the month of July this year. As compared to Mi 4, the upcoming device will be bigger in size and will have much higher specifications and features and will be the perfect smartphone to be tagged as the flagship device for the year 2016 from Xiaomi.

No wonder that Xiaomi will keep pace with the market trends and will include a USB Type C port and a fingerprint sensor in their upcoming device. They will also try to pack Mi 5 with the latest chipset, while keeping the manufacturing cost to the minimum.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Specifications and Features

Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to feature 3D Force Touch-like mechanism, similar to iPhone, though it is just a rumor and being practical, we can’t think it will be included in Mi 5, might be in future Android devices. The device is expected to feature a 5.2 or 5.5 inch IPS display with a full HD or Quad HD display. According to GSMArena, it will probably have a Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

Mi 5 might come with Snapdragon 820 Octa-core processor and Adreno 530 coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The internal storage will be limited to 64 GB with the absence of support for micro SD card, similar to other Xiaomi devices.

Mi 5 might come with a newer version of MIUI that will be based on Android 6.xx Marshmallow. The device will sport a 16 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash accompanied by a 8 MP front facing camera. According to the leaks, Mi 5 might come with a uni-metal body that will ensure the premium feel of the device.

This time the micro USB 2.0 will be replaced with a newer USB Type C port that will ensure better data transfer rate. To power up such a beast, it is expected that Mi 5 will come with at least 3300 mAh battery that will support quick charge 2.0 technology. The other features include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS and a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Price

Xiaomi Mi 4 (64 GB) was initially launched at the price of Rs. 23,999 but later on the prices went down to Rs. 17,999. As per the market conditions and the specifications of Mi 5, it is expected to carry a price tag of Rs. 25,999, which will be around $390. Though it is quite early to figure the actual price, when the official hardware specifications are still not available.
