Samsung upcoming smartphone, Galaxy S7 Edge, has been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark which has confirmed some of the key specifications of the device. It is expected that the Galaxy S7 series will soon be launched in coming months. According to a tweet by NWE, it has been confirmed that the upcoming device will posses the model number SM-G935A (Galaxy S7 Edge). As expected the phone will come with the latest Android OS, i.e., 6.0 Marshmallow with an optimized version of TouchWiz.

Galaxy S7 series is definitely a major upgrade over last year’s Galaxy S6 series in terms of performance and specifications. All the S7 series devices will be powered by Snapdragon 820 which is the fastest and most efficient SoC from Qualcomm. It supports Quick Charge 3.0 which is 38% faster than Quick Charge 2.0, which means that you can full charge your phone in just one hour.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Specifications

Galaxy S7 Edge will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU, which is the latest Snapdragon SoC at the moment. In addition, the device will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on board storage. Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a beautifully curved 5.1 inch display with a Quad-HD resolution of 1440 x 2560. The other features will include fingerprint sensor, a USB Type C port (not confirmed), NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm jack. Currently there is no information about the battery and price of this upcoming device, though it is expected that Galaxy S7 Edge will have around 3000mAh battery and will be priced around $600.

Earlier it has been rumored that Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a 5.5 inch screen, but now it has been confirmed that it will have the same display size as of Galaxy S6 Edge, even with the same quad-HD resolution. The major change will be the replacement of Exynos 7420 with Snapdragon 820, which is more capable and efficient SoC.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will have both 3G and 4G bands with the support for Samsung Pay, which will be seen in all the future high-end devices of Samsung. Though the megapixels from primary camera has been dropped down from 16MP to 12MP, but the camera will still be more powerful than Galaxy S6 Edge camera as it will come with F/1.7 aperture.
