The successor of last year’s Galaxy J5 has been spotted on GFXBench with its key specifications. The original Galaxy J5 was launched back in July 2015 and now 2016 generation of J5 has been leaked in the bench-marking website which has revealed its main specifications. Galaxy J5 (2016) is an entry level smartphone with some basic features and specs.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display as compared to 5 inch display of last year’s J5. Though the resolution of the screen is still the same, i.e. 720 x 1280 pixels. The phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 chipset with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor accompanied with a Adreno 306 GPU. The device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via micro SD card. The phone comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz over the top.

The new J5 is very much similar to original J5 except for a bigger screen and increased RAM, therefore this cannot be tagged as a major upgrade over its predecessor. Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with 12/13 MP primary camera which is capable of capturing videos in full HD with a 5 MP front facing camera. The phone is also equipped with a LED flash at the back.

Galaxy J5 2016 does support 3G and 4G networks and has dual SIM slots. There has been no information about the battery capacity of the phone, but it is expected to have around 2800mAh battery. The phone will be available in black, white and gold color, like any other Samsung smartphone. The other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, Radio, GPS and 3.5 mm audio jack.

Last year’s J5 was priced around Rs. 12000 and it is very much confirmed that J5 (2016) will also be priced in the same range. To be concise, it can carry a price tag of Ra. 10,999.
