
Finally, the most awaited smartphone from Samsung, i.e. Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has been launched at MWC 2016, Barcelona. The series of rumours are now on halt and the official specifications of the flagship devices from Samsung for the year 2016 has been released. The unpacking event of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge was streamed live on YouTube, and almost 6.5 lac users were online at the same time, though there were fluctuations in these numbers to a great extent. Overall “Samsung Unpacked 2016” was a successful event and Samsung was able to convince the audience with new features, design and specifications.

On table both the devices have one of the most powerful specifications but beside these specifications, there are many other things that you need to know. So let’s start with a detailed discussion of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
On first look, everyone might fall for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with their curvy screen and super AMOLED display that has Quad HD resolution. No doubt that Samsung has provided us with the best display in smartphone till date with great colour reproduction and sheer brightness. When it comes to S7 Edge, then you will find a more thin device with a more curvy display on the both side. Overall, both the devices are perfect in terms of design and display. You will always feel the honour being premium by holding any of these devices.
Both the devices will come in two variants; one will be powered by Snapdragon SoC while other will be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos chipset. These variants will be available according to the geographic locations/ It is expected that Asia region will get Exynos variant while rest of the world will have Snapdragon version of these phones. It comes with 4GB of RAM which is enough for smooth multi-tasking. The internal storage of the phone is 32GB and 64GB with an option to expand it up to 200GB via micro SD card. This is one of the most welcome features in Galaxy S series. Earlier it was rumoured that S7 might not come with external card support.
Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge comes with 12MP primary camera that has f/1.7 aperture and Dual Pixel technology that can even outperform the best mobile cameras in the market right now. It also features fast auto-focus speed, on-board Smart OIS and new Motion Panorama. Overall the camera section of Galaxy S7 is rock solid. On the front it holds a 5MP camera that does a decent job for selfies and video calls.
Galaxy S7 is powered by 3000 mAh battery while S7 Edge has 3600 mAh battery that lasts long for a complete day with average usage. Not to forget that S7 series now support fast charging in both wired and wireless charging. S7 is surely a feature rich phone, name it, and you will find it on S7. It also has support for NFC and MST. Only to our surprise, Samsung has ditched the Type-C USB port and has relied upon traditional micro USD 2.0 port. On the software counterpart, S7 and S7 Edge runs on new TouchWiz UI that is based on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There has been lot of improvements in Galaxy Edge that make the edge feature more useful and innovative.
